Ok you have a Dish 500 with an individual LNB.

If you go back to my post you will see your dish with two LNB's. This set up would give you the 110 and 119 satellite positions using the skew. I would set the dish up using the shew and then you could add another LNB to the dish later.

For the 110 position satellite move the LNB to the other side of the yoke/adapter then what you are showing in the picture. That is correct for the 110 position and the 119 in the other.

With one lnb run one cable to your receiver from the dish.

In the receiver set-up choose the 110 satellite and use these settings:

Note: You have said it is a DishPro LNB so use these settings

110 Satellite
LNB* power = on
LNB* type = OC-DP (DishPro) Standard (Legacy LNB-Not labled DishPro)
LNB* freq = 11250
22KHz = off
TP* Freq = 12224
Diseqc... None
Motor = Off
Legacy SW = None

Once you have the correct settings on the dish and in the receiver.. point the dish to the approx compass heading and move the dish right to left looking for signal "Quality". Quality gives you the picture.

Once you get Quality then you can tweak for better Quality.

Skew: On the rear of the dish you see numbers and that is where you would set the skew. It is a plate on the dish and there is some skew now because of having the two Bev positions but the skew would be different with the 110 and 119 positions.

Note: Depending on your location in Canada you might not easily get the satellites with the Dish 500. Hopefully you are near the border.

The yoke/adapter you have will work for the 82/91 position or the 110/119 position. Here is the adapter:

The Skew... Here is what the skew does:

I remember a long time ago when I was just learning how to set a dish up, I was told to tune 119 in first. Once I have 119 tuned in, then adjust the skew to get 110. That has been the easiest for me anyhow and works everytime.

If your lnb is a one-piece assembly with only 2 ports at the bottom, it is a dish pro. If your lnb is a one-piece assembly with 3 ports at the bottom, 2 for out, and one for in, its a dish pro plus.
If your lnb is 2 small single lnbs mounted individually into the y-bracket, you have dish twin lnbs and they require a switch, such as the diseq or a sw21 to access 110 and 119 on the same receiver.
Hope this helps.

You can always take your receiver and a portable TV to your antenna and find the sat that way. I found that the easiest because you have everything right at your finger tips. You can tweak up or down, left or right and see the results right there in front of you instead of running back and forth to your TV. Once you get locked in on your sat you've got the hardest part done. It's all down hill from there. Just be careful if your antenna is on the roof. Hope this helps some. At least it gives you another way to set up your sat.

You said your LNB is a Dish Pro so your settings in the receiver for the LNB type is "OC-DP". See my adjusted settings in my prior post. If it is a DishPro it says Dish Pro on the LNB. And you use the OC-DP on your receiver settings.

But... It could also be a "Legacy" LNB as pictured below and then your settings would be Type LNB- standard:

JOCOTRA... Said you need a switch.. not so. Right now with one LNB that you want pointed to the 110 position you just have the cable from the LNB to the receiver. If you do add the second LNB then yes you would then need a ...DisEQc switch... and your settings would change in the receiver.

JD717... has some good idea's in this thread. Have used a portable TV many times.
