Viewsat 7000 PVR Complete Setup Instructions

Viewsat 7000 PVR Complete Setup Instructions

Install the USB explorer and loader two programs. Unzip the usb drivers into a folder where you can easily find them later.

To install the USB drivers.
1) Connect your usb cable from the PVR (flip down panel on the right) to your computer.
2) You have to activate the usb connection to detect the usb connection. Either go into the menu > record service > USB or hit the C button on the bottom of the remote.
3) It will detect your usb connection and bring up the drivers installation wizard. Select to load from disk and browse to the location on your HDD you unziped the drivers.

---------------------------------------------------

Installing the bin files
There are two ways to load bins onto your PVR, either by null modem cable or copying the files to your HDD to load.

For the old fashion null modem cable method.
1) Connect the null modem cable between your computer and PVR. Make sure you have configured the com port correctly and your PVR is off at the back.
2) Open loader 1.2
3) Hit open file and browse to the location you have unzipped the pgm file to.
4) Hit the PC -> STB button and turn on your VS
5) Wait for a very long time, then wait a little more. Takes about 7 minutes to finish copying the file from your computer to the VS and loader 1.2 to say it is done. Another 3 minutes to load the file into memory. A dash will circle around while it is loading. Eventually it will say end and restart.

New much faster USB method.
You must have a HDD installed and formatted.
1) Connect the USB cable from PVR to computer.
2) Open USBexplorer utility.
3) Hit the green C button on the bottom of your remote to connect via USB cable.
4) Browse to the \Tiedostot\Upgrade Files folder on the PVR in the bottom windows.
5) drag and drop the pgm file from your computer in the top window to the \Tiedostot\Upgrade Files folder.
6) Exit out of the USB connect screen.
7) Open the menu > Record Service > Upgrade File List and select the pgm file you copied over.
8) It will say Upgrading... then AC plug Out and In.
9) Turn off the switch at the back then turn it back on. It will turn itself on then off. Hit the power button on your remote

It only takes 2 or 3 minutes to load via the USB cable. After you can just leave those files on your PVR HDD and it only takes 1 minute to reload the pgm file or you can switch between different versions quickly.
