re: repositioning to dish network

It would be a bit complicated to tell you how to set it with precise instruments. The best way is to switch the settings to the signal you want in your receiver and have a friend let you know when you get a signal. Usualy takes a few tries. Dish Network has 3 signals. 121 west, 110 west and 119 west. When the arm of your dish is braced flat against a wall, you will notice that the arm extends parallel to the wall. The Bell signal is obtained with an angle that points to the sky (about 30 degrees from the horizon - angle usualy writen on the side of the arm). To get dish, you will have to lower the angle so that the dish points flat to the horizon (the lowest langle you can set it). Your dish should now be sitting completly straight. Aim it directly pointing west. Lift slightly 2-3 degrees and move left to right slowly as you should get a signal. To find out, which signal you are on, change your settings from 121 to 110 and 119. It should lock and tell you which one it is depending on your receiver. The first signal from the left I believe is 119. Moving slightly more to the right you will get 110. Then 121. I could be wrong. I hope that has helped a bit.

As posted previously by several, use one of the sat finder programs available or a web site such as:

hXXp://www.beamon.ca/sat_finder.php

Replace the XX with the appropriate letters and enter you zip / postal code. Should help you out. Oh and if for some reason it is not the exact location, you can drag the map to your spot .
