VS Ultra not saving settings??

I've had my dish pointed at b3v until recently, I moved it to 110. Everything appears to be working fine. However I'd like to watch the UFC fights tonight so I moved my dish to 119.

I change the antenna settings accordingly, however it will not save the transponder change to 12239, it always defaults back to 12224! Since it won't save the transponder setting, I have 0 quality and therefore I can not do a channel scan with any success.

Any ideas?

These are the settings I am using;

echostar 119
lnb pwr; on
lnb type; standard
lnb freq; 11250
22Khz; off
TP freq; 12239 (but it defaults back to 12224!)
discq; none
motor; off
legacy sw; none

I have restored the default settings and started from scratch several times, and I have also turned my reciever off with the switch on the back several times. I'm running out of ideas, any help appreciated! thanks for any suggestions!

I know I can hit 119, I ran a Dish500 for years watching 110 and 119. I've got strong signal and very good quality when I set the TP to 12239 or 12516, but when I save and exit that page, it always defaults back to 12224.

Hey,

I've got the same problem with my HD9000 unit. I had channel 455, but it kept searching, after I loaded the new file last night, I did a factory reset, and rescanned 110 and 119 and lost a bunch of channels on 119, when I scan I only get 103 channels now, and your right the setting keep changing back to the default 12224, which shows 0 quality on my screen, whereas 12516 has 88% Q.

Anyone have an answer for this one?

Would reinstalling the factory file help? ............
What is the factory file anyway?

for 119 use 12239 for tp setting and then rescan. make sure that when you start the scan that it is reading 119 if not then you have a switch setting problem

when ever you change the TP it will NOT save and goes back to default. I've done it about 40 times. Would the factory file reset everything to default.

sounds easy, however when you exit the antenna setting screen it defaults the TP to 12224... therefore scanning is useless because quailty is 0.

I'll try do another factory reset, but this time I'll then install the factory file first to see if it makes a difference.

you mean when you set the tp setting and scan that sat that it is not pulling any channels in? usually if you set the settings and scan it will pull in the channels and once you save it will go back to default settings

Check this out my friends. This should get you going. Good luck.
Set TP Freq. to 12224 unless this satellite is EchoStar 7 (119.0W), in which case use 12239 instead. The TP Freq. setting is not saved upon exit. This is normal and will not affect any subsequent operations.

thats interesting..

a few lines below is says; "At this point, you should see readings on the signal strength (S) and quality (Q) meters above 50."

however as soon as I exit the antenna settings screen, quality goes to 0. I never did try to do a channel scan after this, but if it doesn't 'affect any subsequent operations" I'll have to give it a try.

thanks for the tip, I'll give it a try and post my results.
