File transfer question...

Okay, I formatted my external drive so I have room on both the FAT and NTFS partitions. I downloaded Norton Partition Magic from the VIP section and was able to see the movies I saved (as a DVR unit.) I tried to do a copy and paste through Norton's (which it said it would do), and have an error that keeps popping up - no matter if I try to paste onto my NTFS partition or the PC drive.

What software do you all use to transfer the files over to a NTFS drive, so I can try to burn it to a DVD? I am going to try ConvertXtoDVD for the burning portion, but if there is a better solution I would love to learn from your experience.

Thanks.

Thanks man, but what did you use to get the original, saved file over to the PC (or NTFS partition)? That's what's giving me fits at the moment. :-)

When I hook the HD to the PC, it only recognizes the NTFS partition (not the FAT partition that the saved movie was on.) So not being able to see the file to copy it is my concern. I was under the impresion that you neded a Linux reader to get to the saved files, then used it to move them to a NTFS partition?

What a tease! LOL! :-)

I downloaded the trial version of Total Commander and was able to copy and paste a saved movie to my HD. I used ConvertXtoDVD to burn it to disc and started watching. Everything looked good, but the movie stopped a few minutes in.

I am assuming this is because I didn't have the "purchased" version of Total Commander? I have ordered it now with my credit card and am just awaiting the download instructions. If this seems normal, please let me know.
