Dead VS Ultra.
I realy need help from an expert with my vs ultra my problema is:
After I download a file which I know it was properly done cause I have being doing this for a while, my box just stop working after a few hours I installed the lates bin. All I got it was a snowy screen on the TV. I have tried everything like the fix after getting "-----" with the null cable and factory files and diffent bins with renaming the original one with the name PFTAUSWR.PGM and using the USB, but no luck. I tried cloning that with a good Ultra, but nothing looks to work. When I tried to turn on from the back switch after a few tries i get some kind of numbers on the front display, but does not looks they blink. Looks like it is lock. Any ideas or should I just give up cause i have spend a lot time on this by reading all the threads possible and the suggestions. |

Yes, it looks like you have done your reading.
The older method was to try to fix your Ultra with the data cable, however, the newer method suggested is using the USB stick at boot up. Just to make sure (I believe you tried this) here is a link to the USB method: http://www.fortecfiles.com/viewsat-t...procedure.html (Ultra- USB file startup "BOOT" procedure) With this method I would go with the factory file (only on the stick) and then if you get that in then go back with the 9-8-2008 release using the boot method. Have been looking around other sites for this problem and have not really read of much... I know from experience (I did it) that when loading the file is must be the file for your model. Was helping folks with Xtreme's and zapped the Ultra with the Xtreme file. Never worked and trashed it. Wish I had it now to try this USB method of loading. |

Dead box fix with the USB
I have used the new fix with the USB stick direct and the modified PGM fix 4 times now and it worked like a charm and the "dead" box was back to life in about 30 seconds. Just follow the instructions and will work.
Good luck! |
