The "Master" will get back to help.
I am reading a bit trying to help you. I understand that there is a "dummy" 8psk module in the receiver when you buy it. You would be able to get HD from the Bev satellite but for Charlie HD channels you would need to install the real 8psk module.
If you purchased the module and installed you might want to check all the connections. Have read that the ex-turner must be set to (ON). If you are not seeing the option to turn on then the VS9000 is not seeing the module as installed.
Myself, (not having the receiver) I would first do a factory default and even load the latest factory program. Then go in and:
Go to the Menu..... Settings...... System Settings
At the bottom, you will now have the option to turn the External Tuner "ON". Do this.
Go to Antenna Settings and setup your lnb/switch combinations.
Do "Auto Scan" on each of your sats individually.
The older 8psk Module gets hot and one user mentioned that when the module is hot the option to turn External Tuner ON is not an option. They left the VS9000 down for a day and it worked.
Aslo when installing the 8Psk it is also suggested that when you remove the plug from the rear of the receiver scrape a bit of paint off so the nut will make a good connection to the receiver.
Note: If again you do not see the option to turn on the External Tuner I would check to make sure it is installed correctly. Have added photo's to the "Masters" link above that may help.
