dead how is there any lights on lcd,if so use serial cable load factory file 132 then newest bin,if reciever is dead no power unhook the sat cable unplug it then plug it back in and see if power comes back a bad ground can cause this.

Well the only file that I can think that might be able to fix your problem is 1st got to the Viewsat Ultra file page and download the VS Ultra Fail Fix 13th March 08’ using your cable wire then uploaded it with the latest file which is 07/27/08 goodluck….I just recently had a problem with my ultra and that’s how I fixed it.......
