Thumbs up Steve Nash among 2010 torch bearers!

TORONTO - Steve Nash is going to have his own Vancouver Olympic moment.

The two-time NBA MVP from Victoria has accepted an invitation to carry the Olympic torch during its cross-country trip en route to the 2010 Games in Vancouver and Whistler.

The Phoenix Suns point guard said he wasn't positive where his leg would take place.

The torch relay begins its trek across the country in Victoria on Oct. 30, and will travel 45,000 kilometres around Canada.

The relay will make stops in every province and territory during its 106-day journey leading up to the lighting of the cauldron at BC Place. The Olympics will be held from Feb. 12 to 28 in Vancouver and Whistler, B.C., followed by the Paralympics from March 12 to 21.

Calgary golfer Stephen Ames also recently confirmed he was running a leg of the relay.
