LOS ANGELES (UPI) -- WBA welterweight boxing champion Shane Mosley has refuted claims he is ducking IBO light welterweight champ Manny Pacquiao.

A Mosley-Pacquiao bout could command the largest gate in boxing this year, boxing analysts say.

The 30-year-old Pacquiao, called one of the world's best ever pound-for-pound fighters, floored former IBO light welterweight champ Ricky Hatton three times when they fought in Las Vegas May 3.

"There are conflicting reports from the Pacquiao camp an upcoming fight between me and Manny Pacquiao," Mosley said in a statement on his Web site. "I want it to be known that I want to fight Pacquiao and I want to fight him now. I'm willing to meet at a catch weight to make that happen. I know this is what (promoter) Freddie Roach wants as well, as he has previously stated this to press. I am the best fighter in boxing and I am ready to reclaim the title of number one pound-for-pound fighter."

i know this (mosley vs. pac) but its funny lol gayweather aint gonna win of it on the 5th he will run like a chicken. Anyways i think Pacquiao is tough compare to mosley. if mosley going to the weight class as gaylahoya did game is over he will quit 2 for sure. Pac vs. Marquez is the only one i know its close....

I like Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao too when he step on the ring he always came to fight non stop from the first round to the end and a very humble person...º¿º...

It was cancel coz of slow ticket sale but Gayweather said he hurt his ribs on one of his practice, think it's more likely the slow ticket sale bet his ego is bruise more than his ribs. There is a talks of Pacquiao and Cotto too they have the same promoter Bob Arum will be easy set and Cotto just won last Saturday (more likely he rob Joshua Clottey) and he has a big fan base in Puerto Rico...º¿º...

yup i agree i think its more like to happened cotto vs. pac thats about it. the fight with clottey n cotto was a bit slow going, its more like a energizer going n going just to pump people to watch them another fight maybe rematch coz its miss judge.

So what happen to mosley if cotto taking the place to fight pac? i dont know.
