t was already all but a foregone conclusion considering that The Ultimate Fighter Season 9 is set to feature a team of U.S. fighters competing against their U.K. counterparts, but UFC president Dana White on Saturday night officially announced that British middleweight Michael Bisping would coach the contingent from England.

At the UFC 89 post-fight press conference, Bisping said that he was happy to be involved with the Ultimate Fighter series once again. He defeated Josh Haynes in the finals of Season 3 of the venerable UFC reality series to win the light heavyweight division on the show.

Despite amassing a 4-1 record in the UFC in the 205-pound division, Bisping opted to move down the middleweight class, where he has found similar success.

Coaching the U.K. team for Ultimate Fighter 9, Bisping feels he can call upon his past experience as a competitor on the show and apply that as a coach. He told the UFC 89 post-fight press that, having been through it, he realizes the stresses from living in the fighter house. He's excited to attack those stresses from a different angle as a coach.

Just who will coach opposite him is unknown at this point, although both Rich Franklin and Dan Henderson have been mentioned as possibilities.
