SW 44 multi switch

Hi!
I bought a SW 44 tried to hook it up I get this on screen less satellites than previous it gives option to cancel or save but it tells me if I save I will have less satellites hooked up.
that was after I did the check switch .
On screen it shows it as a SW 21 but I had a SW 44 hooked up.

I even changed me RG 6 cables from dishes to switch same problem.

I tried it on my 6131 HD reciever on the 6131 says less satellites and 3100 reciever shows onscreen a red bar not locked on sats .

But with just my SW 21 I get green bar 70- 80 % signal - 94-98 % signal depending on which TP I select .

So I just put my SW 21 back on for now .

Any ideas or anyone had this problem.

Thanks....avril57

Is it a SW44 or DPP44?Also as I'm not familiar with the bev and dn subs as far as the model numbers go;are you connecting to a bev or dn sub?Any fta units..what exactly are you trying to accomplish with your setup?
NOTE:You also should have a power inserter for the SW44 or it tends to not function properly

Sw 44

Hi!
thanks for reply it does have a power inserter , I will try it again next time I get a chance .
maybe I hooked the power inserter wrong it says to plug in and turn 180 maybe I turned it to much or not enough .

When I felt where the power inserter plugs into I noticed it did not get warm.

Thanks....avril57

The switch has a dish logo on it but I am trying to use it on my bev subs I have three recievers two HD and one regular 3100 model .
I was told it can be used for bev or dish.

That is the original DN brand SW44 and can be used with bev subs.Your bev subs should recognize it when doing a switch check..Just make certain you have both cables from each lnb connected correctly and power inserter connected to output port#1.

Sw 44

Hi!
Thanks for the info guys I will try it this weekend by the time I get home from work now it is dark out I do not have a light on my balcony at my apt.
but for now I will just use my SW 21 .

I did some reading on the switches as well from here on the site and I did a google search for info too.

printed some stuff and diagrams for setting up the SW 44.

I read a bit more on the switch install I think where I made my mistake was I was picking up one sat but after reading set up instructions I noticed it said to power down the receiver to let it update sat`s installed .

I think that is where I made my mistake I went straight to check switch and did`nt let the receiver update sat set up info.

Hope the weather will be better tomorrow or this weekend to check it pretty windy and rainy right now here on the west coast.

Thanks guys....avril57

Sw 44

Hi!
I think I bought a bad switch I tried it as instructions say even changed my RG 6 cables from LNB`s to Switch put new ends on cable wires and I get no signal through the SW 44 .

I powered receiver off to allow it to update but still no signal at all from sat to receiver .
I tried with my 6131 receiver nothing tried with my 3100 model receiver nothing.
I checked the power inserter switch it feels cold like no power going through it.
checked all the ends of cables were not to short or to long .

I think I will look to pick up another switch to try kind of a waste of money for this switch.

I read lots of info on set up for it.

Oh well .

Thanks for the input guys.
