Layoffs at XM?

Layoffs at XM?
Talk has surfaced that employee layoffs have taken their toll at XM, which merged with Sirius this past summer.
According to blog posts and some industry news chatter, layoffs at XM's D.C. offices have numbered at least 50 (some reports stated that the layoffs number as many as 80). The employees that were let go include program directors and DJs for the satellite radio service's various streams, some of which have become popular with listeners.
There also were rumors that the layoffs are part of an effort by the merged satellite radio entity to unveil a more streamlined programming lineup in early November.
There was no comment offered by representatives at either XM or Sirius about the reported layoffs.
