confirmed echo 11 is now up

CONFIRMED: Echostar 8 has gone dark and Echostar 11 is now active. Signal strength on all transponders is now 100% (from a previous 0%). Echo 8 will now move to 77w and replace Echo 4. Good news for both the East coast and the two "fringe" states.

everyone using echo 8 should now see a big difference with rain fade and quality. even during rain and storms. havent confirmed yet but with echo 11 there could possibly be more channels in the future with echo 11. as soon as anything is confirmed on that it will be posted

I do have a question? Now are we going to still see Echostar 8 or are we going to see Echostar 11? Just being interested in the satellite to see which one I will see when looking for Sat signal, hope to see the change... thanks.....

in your receiver unless you change it you will still see echo 8. echo 11 is in the exact same spot as echo 8 was

from what i have been reading, added channels will come at a later time. for right now you should see a big difference with rain fade and clouds knocking out your signal. i know i have as we had some bad storms last week and was still watching tv through it all. when more info is released it will be posted for all to see

Yea, the "Master of Disaster" really keeps us up on the news.

As far as seeing Echo 8 on your satellite list or scanning Echo 8.... but it is now Echo 11.

For some years we were scanning Echo 6/8 and then it became 8/10. You can call the satellite anything. What is important is the Frequency and Transponder information. Right now if your receiver shows 6/8 no big deal. Or 8/10 no big deal. When someone makes up a new SatFile (for your receiver) they will possibly change the satellite name to Echo 11.

Myself, I suggest doing a Factory Reset/Default every once in a while as the providers move channels around. At that time you might find extra channels and you could let us know.

Good work "Master of D" (MOD)....

Just to add most of you will see an increase in quality with echo 11, this also means that those who were on fringe areas & unable to get 110 will now be able to bring 110 in.
Here is a couple of maps to show the difference in range..........
