NEWS BRIEFS: Mandatory Metallica on XM


On Saturday, Aug. 16, XM Radio will launch "Mandatory Metallica," a stream providing fans of the band with music from the Metallica catalog, including rare live recordings from personal archives, interviews and more. Metallica guitarist and singer James Hetfield, drummer Lars Ulrich, guitarist Kirk Hammett and bassist Robert Trujillo will serve as hosts for the six-week long channel.

David Wolford, best known in satellite circles for starting CommTek Communications in the 1980's and publishing satellite TV program guides, passed away last month. David is survived by his loving wife, Edith, and two children. Our sympathies to the Wolford family for its loss.
