WhereIsHD: Comcast Starts Sprinting

According to WhereIsHD , Comcast launched with full force last week adding 547 HD feeds to its lineups. That's more than half of the total HD feeds launched across all providers. Knology Holding Co. came in second with 55 HD feeds, followed by Time Warner with 53.

While Comcast spread its launches over 17 different DMAs, 52 percent of its total launches were in the Boston (Manchester) DMA. Knology Holding focused its launches primarily in the Sioux Falls DMA while the lion's share of Time Warner launches were in the Lincoln and Hastings, New York, Omaha, and Dayton DMAs.

The top feeds added last week were ABC Family HD (131), Disney Channel HD (130), and Science Channel HD (139). Sports genre lags again this week making up only 8 percent of total HD feed additions.

HD Broadcast feeds were not accounted for in this report.
