k box vs nfusion hd

can anyone tell me if the k box has a better picture than the infusion hd? I have heard that someone had bought an infusion hd and they had a k box, and the k box had a better picture than the infusion. Can anyone verify this? If so, which k box is the best? Or which one do you recommend buying? Any help in this will be appreciated. Please let me know as soon as possible. Want to buy one in the next few days. One more question - Does the k box pick up off of a router, or do you have to hook it straight to router with cable? Thanks, Stevesatman.

Don't have an hd box but I can say without reservation that the kbox has the clearest picture on my 42" lcd of any box I have owned. When I watch my hd locals with rabbit ears the picture is clearer but not by much. If there was some way to get the "fatness" look out of the kbox picture, I think it would be comparable to hd. The fatness look is the same with all boxes on big screen lcd's. I have tried the various settings, but other than pillar (which is unacceptable because of the black lines) this fatness look is there. It's just a factor of the original satellite broadcast only being in 450i being placed on a screen designed for more.

I don't have an HD box either but then unless you can get aimed at 82 there isn't really enough channels up to make it worth the extra cost.

I have tested Viewsats, Sonicviews, Nfusions, Kbox, and others and the Kbox has the best picture by far. I saw them all tested on a 50" plasma set to 16:9 full screen mode. The Kbox is close to HD in quaility. I would highly recommend that you save a couple of hundred, until more HD is up and running, and get a Kbox.

Thank you, hadn't tried the 16:9 full screen mode. Now, the "fatness" I mentioned above is gone. Really, really good picture now.

I have both boxes and there is no comparison between the NFHD and the KBOX----NFHD by a mile or i should say by 100 miles. I love the KBOX it has a great picture but believe me they are not even close. I've seen this question asked before and common sense should prevail here. Let me put it this way the person who made the statement (if he doesn't work for KBOX) has to be blind or an idiot to make the comparison between the two boxes especially since the NFHD cost double the price of the KBOX.

Blind or idiot, that's a bit harsh! No one said it was as good only almost as good. By far the kbox has the best picture by 100 times as you say of any non hd box. So relax and enjoy your nf until they drop support for your box as they did with my nova.

At least with me, I've noticed that the picture on my kbox is not as good as it was a couple of weeks ago. All connections have bee checked and box has been reset/rescanned, all that stuff, but if you look in the black areas of the picture I can see what looks like rolling bars (stripes). They are in the colored areas also but not as noticeable. The colors are somewhat blurred like other boxes on the market. It's still better than other boxes that I have; but something is degrading the signal. Is anyone else having this problem? So my conclusion for the starter of this thread is that if you really can't live with much less than hd, you need to get hd because you won't be satisfied with the kbox picture at this time.
