Kinda Sad

Well I think I sold my airplane today, I have owned and flown it for 10 years, But with the price of hanger rent, and the cost of upkeep, had to go, Going to miss her, But the new owner says I can have visitation rights, But if this economy turns around, I will dang sure have another one

Unhappy So goes life

Used to do dawn patrols with my father-in-law (co-owner) evey sunday (summertime) and "on the airport" restaurants when the weather was crappy (so long as it wasn't to cold to start but alas when gas got expensive along with annuals twas time to throw in the towel. As I drive past Oakland Pontiac airport now days general aviation has little going on.

Poolman, at least you got your licence and got the oportunity to own your own planes. Many years ago I had the money and youth to do it, but other things got in the way. Now at 52, I could kick myself everyday when I drive by the Opa-locka Executive Airport (OPF).
Cheer up. You'll get another one.

Thanks Guys,
The guy hasn't put the money in my hand yet, So went out this morning and took a nice flight for about 45 minutes, and coffin, 52, when I was taking lessons there were a lot of 60+ year old taking lessons, So don't give up, It's a great feeling to be flying around by yourself, clears my head, But my wifes mom died of cancer last year, And she doesn't like it when I go flying now .....

I hear you,
The one good thing is he is going to keep at airport close to my house, I have a lot of friends there, so I am sure I can borrow someone's plane if I get the urge
