If the powers that be want to do something about satellite piracy, why dont they sue the big name cable and satellite companies that steal local T.V. from our local television stations and charge us(price gouge) for T.V. that should be free in the first place. Our tax dollars pay for local T.V.,and we have the right to it. I feel in this information age, holding back true information from the masses is a major crime. What would television be without the people that watch it, nothing! So with this being said, Joe Blow Multi Millionaire can put piracy in his pipe and smoke it just like we do lol. I dont see him paying our bills, and as long as we pay for cable or satellite it takes money out of our pockets and food out of our kids mouths. If I had Joe Blows cash flow, I would gladly pay for all the good movies and pay per views just like he does, but Im not and might not ever be in my lifetime so I resort to Fta. Why shouldnt I be entertained and informed just like the rich folks,its biased to think some rich, jealous, lame S.O.B. should have more access to information than me just because of my social and financial status that I was born into,its a plight against the poor. I want a good place to live, quality food to eat, good clothes on my back and Yes! I want to be informed by Fta!

be careful what u ask for or they do to us like they do in england and charge you a tv tax just for owning a tv so they can keep their local free tv stations open .... and everyone has to pay them lmao

Don't mean to sound stupid, but you actually have to pay a TAX, just for owning a tv, on every tv you own?? How can they enforce something like that??

Maybe a registration process when you purchase it. Like a car or house ... lotta paperwork and manpower to enforce I would think ... what a bummer.

They just assume that EVERYONE has a tv and then charge them all for the natianal tv's programming. For all other stations you pay a sub just like here. They collect this tax by attaching it to your hydro or water bill so that you have no choice but to pay it.
