Sound like you useing a labtop, but try the 2500 to 2700 or JDH loader and with an unzip puff_295 in loader then do a reboot at first flash hit write or for JDH loader hit download see if that works
here all loaders http://www.fortecfiles.com/fortec-ul...2700-back.html (All Loaders Used For Convert to 2700 & Back)

I am using my old Desktop with WIN98 ... I Don't have the laptop with the serial port here right now . I do have my laptop that I'm o the net with talking to you , but it has no serial port . And I have never had any luck with the USB/Serial converters. My laptop is A HP Pavilion running win XP . I don't know if that's a good platform to try to use a USB/Serial converter on ? I have always in the past used my old Desktop Until I started playing with the old FLU , The com port opens it starts to flash when i do a hard reboot then click write in BL 1.40 , but then it locks up and hangs at 2-5 % and then my desktop Re-boots LOL ?? Weird huh ? I have never seen such a thing from a serial port /com port issue before have you ? I would like to update the drivers , but the desktop has no internet access ...Your thoughts?

I think gave you this before but check it, mite be the Bits per second is not set at the highest 128000 or the hightest you got
Desk top right click on my Computer, go to properties hit ok then hardware, Device Manger, click on the + ofPorts (com & LPT) then double click serial port that you are using then click on port setting and see if the Bits per second is set at 128000

I just tried the 2500/2700 loader and it does the same thing . It is so weird , when it gets to 2 to 5 % the computer re-boots ? I will check com port settings again . This is so frustrating , I can build Buffered J-Tags and use them doing all kinds of stuff , But I cant use this OLD computer to load my FLU , It has to be an issue with win98 or something ? I sure appreciate your input here . I just thought maybe I was not using the right loader .. Let me clarify that all I have to do is use the STB loader and I don't have to do anything to the bin , the bin is already puff ... so it should be simple as open STB loader of choice ,select the current puff bin ,, flip the switch on back of FLU for a hard reboot , click write at first flash of display on FLU , let it flash and reboot on its own . Correct ?? Maybe I am missing something here , but I guessing its just my OLD Very OLD Desktop PC giving me these head aches LOL ... Thanks Again " I keep reading all the archeives to try to catch up on what I have missed out on since I fell behind on the FLU stuff "

Try this right click on loader, go to properties, Click on Compatibilty and put a check on the box (Run this in compatbility) see if that works

I tried yo use JHD STB loader and it keeps saying wrong file type .. But JHD loader dont show settings for 2700 only lifetime and FLU etc.... Any other loaders that may pick up on my port settings?

Ok here is the story now. I could not get the USB to Serial to work with my laptop at all . Comes up as com ports 12 , 13, 14, or 15 depending on what usb port I plug it into. So I used my Old PC with Win98 and plugged it into the USB port .. Came up as com 3 .. we are in business now.. It is taking over 10 min to flash the box so far and it still downloading ... Time will tell how well this works . Not my first choice or option .... but if it works hey what the heck.
