To update Captive work 500s receiver you need to download following files:
A: CW500.exe (SW loader application)
B: Newest Bin file with model name CW500s (CW500_vx.xx_yymmdd.bin).
C: CW500_SoftCamTool_V10.1.exe
D: SoftCam.key

1- How to Upgrade your receiver software?
=================================

Make sure you are downloading the correct software for your CW500s. Do not try to load CW600s software to your CW500s receiver because they are two different receivers with different processors inside.

To upgrade your CW500s Prepare a twisted RS232C cable (pin-2 to pin-3, pin-3 to pin-2, pin-5 to pin-5) or you can buy a null modem cable available at most electronic store.

1- Connect your PC and receiver with twisted RS-232C Null modem cable.

2- Unplug your receiver and now open CW500.exe loader file click on Serial Set button now select your COM port in that window Default port is COM1 click ok to exit that window.

3- Now Click the "Select File" button and select the software file to be downloaded, it’s a bin file also called application down.
(modelname_vx.xx_yymmdd.bin). Now software is ready to begin loading the software

4- Plug your receiver to electric outlet to turn it ON. A download window showing percentage progress bar will appear and also letter “d” will appear on your CW500s LCD panel to let you know that download is in progress. When progress bar disappears a message saying the application is upgrading will appear in the CW500s message window. Also receiver will show "U" on the LCD panel it means receiver is installing the software that was just loaded to the receiver.

5- Upon completion, the "S/W successfully upgraded. This program will be closed." messages will appear in the loader window. Then, the program will be closed by itself.

6- Unplug your Captive works 500s and now it is ready to connect with your satellite antenna and TV.

Note: If you get any error loading the software then start from the step one and follow the instruction.

2- How to load SoftCam key file to your CW500s?
==============================
1- Connect your PC and receiver with twisted RS-232C Null modem cable.
2- Open CW500_SoftCamTool_V10.1.exe by double clicking on your.
3- Press “Write” button with your mouse now select the SoftCam.key file and press ok.
4- Press “power” button on your receiver download of the softCam will start.

Note: SoftCam.key file is required to autoroll the keys.

3- How to setup your dish antenna settings and search for channels?

You can setup your antenna settings for Dishnetwork 119/110/61.5/148 with DiSEqC switch by selecting
To select any option you have to press Ok Key on your remote

Menu Key -> Installation -> Select the desired satellite you want to scan.
Right Arrow -> Ok key. Now it time to set parameters for your satellite antenna.

Note: To select your parameters you must select the option you want to change and then press OK key to change the parameter using your arrow button left or right. After changing the parameters you must select OK key from your remote to exit that option.
Here is a typical setup for a Circular/Dish LNB.

After you have selecting all of the parameters for all of the Satellite you have connected to your DiSEqC switch press
-Blue Key (for “Network Search” channels search for one satellite)
-Red key (for “Search All” multi satellite search )
-Yellow Key (for “Blind Search” )
If you have a Legacy switch between your two satellites then change it to appropriate option in the parameters and change DiSEqC setting to None.
