Long Channel Name files for DN&Bev 12-2007
Here are the CaptiveWorks 600S Premium long channel name bins for DN and BEV, updated for December 2007.
For those new to these files, they allow your receiver to show full channel names instead of the five character or "TV 1234" type names that you would normally see without these files loaded. They load the same as any program bin. Once loaded, you can enable them by pressing "Menu", "System Setting", "System" and cursoring down to the bottom of the screen where it says, "Bell&Dishnet Full Names" and toggling it to "ON".
For the DN bin, there were a lot of changes, additions and corrections to update this file since September.
For the BEV bin:
-- City name, province abbreviation and callsign were added to the local TV channels, as well as frequency and band for the radio channels.
-- (DD) indicators were added for channels broadcasting in Dolby Digital.
-- "dv" prefix added to described video channels
-- Channel names were chosen for their accuracy as well as to supplement any information already in the EPG--especially for the radio channels.
-- The Galaxie radio channels use a prefix of "Gxx", where "xx" is the Galaxie channel number.
For both bins:
-- All accent marks and special characters were used for channel names that require them.
-- Many channel names were optimized for old EPG and on screen info display by dropping the word "The" and by using abbreviations such as "CSN" for "Comcast Sports Net" channels, for example.
-- Names are in SID order for easier hex file editing.
-- Tested and confirmed to work on a CW600S Premium.
Enjoy!
