Entering keys automatically
Entering keys automatically (no 8282 needed) This proceedure will not put a new bin in your stb. It will not give you tv to watch unless the problem is a key change. Please be sure you understand the difference before you blindly follow the instructions below. Thanks to PerterPiper & 4coolkid for this c&p post! Easy Way To Input Keys Without The Remote...No need to enter 8282! Quick overview of instructions: Load current stb keys to a notepad, c&p new keys, load back to stb. 1) Connect receiver to computer 2) Open Cyber key grabber tool and retrieve the current working keys You need only do steps 3-5 one time! Use the same downloaded file each time. 3) Open the Coolsat Pro Loader V2.4 and click on the "Keys" tab 4) Click on "ToComputer" 5) Click on "Browse" and specify the location you want to store the "keys file" you download from receiver 6) Click on "Auto Detect" ...You will see the version of bin on the receiver 7) Click "Exit" 8) Click "Connect" then "Start" (keys should download from receiver in about 5 seconds) 9) Click "Finish" 10) Right click your mouse on the keys file you down loaded from your receiver and click on "Edit" in the popup. A notepad will open showing the keys in your receiver Copy Keys from Cyber tool 11) Highlight and copy the first eight key pairs from "IDEA AUX 0" and paste them over the existing keys at "10" under "Slot 2" in the keys file you got from receiver 12) Do the same for the second eight key pairs from "IDEA AUX 0" but paste them over the existing keys at "11" 13) Use same procedures in steps 11) and 12) for "IDEA AUX 1" but replace the keys at "20" and "21" in the keys file you downloaded from receiver 14) Save keys file Loading Keys to Computer 15) On CoolSat loader click on "To Receiver" ... "Auto Detect" ... "Exit" 16) Click "Connect" ... "Start" (when complete...click "Finish" ) 17) A contribution from 4coolkid: The final step is to invoke the 8282 function and make sure the numbers below the CAS ident column reads 10 , 11, 20 and 21. Correct them, if neccessary. GOOD JOB...You are done. If your receiver is not hooked up to TV and dish...hook it up. Go watch TV! Some advantages of this method are: Ease...Speed...Accuracy versus remote entry!!! NOTE: After you use this procedure a couple of times you should be able to do it in about three minutes...GOOD LUCK! |
