Well I usually do not post much but I cannot sit back and watch everyone get so upset and throw out Rumors and speculations about the support of the Captiveworks receivers. They have been nothing less that outstanding. The last few bins I know have been slow to come out and that was for the reason to let everyone know about the problem. It got everyone’s attention I know. People are still buying Premium box when they know they are discontinued from production for months now. They have been warning about clones being the only thing left out there being sold. People choose not to believe this. They have very good records of all their Dealers and their inventory of Premium boxes. They are assured all the dealers have sold their entire Premium inventory that was bought from legit distributor. I have been assured that no Premium box sold from a dealer is a legit box anymore. One way to tell is to look at the price tag. We all know what the retail price is and what is should be. If you are buying one cheap you know it is a clone. You have been warned they are not legit.

Now to address the issues:
1. Slow releases
2. Are all new premiums clones?
3. Buyback program
4. What if they clone 700 and 800?
5. Will support continue?

1.Releases should get better like they were. Slow releases were to send a message to those buying clones. Message has bent sent and received.
2.yes all new receivers sold now are Premium Clones unless it is an individual selling his older unit.
3.They are working on some kind of upgrade program for their loyal customers. Remember they have good records and will know what boxes are clones.
4.The new boxes 650, 700 and 800 are clone safe. If they ever get cloned coders can disable those boxes with software.
5.YES support as they promised will continue. They will not drop support for the Premium.

If people continue to go down this road on buying clones after being warned they have other measures that can be taken to stop them with software.

In conclusion it is my humble opinion that we as FTA end users now have to make a decision (an Informed one now) as what to do from here. You can choose to ignore all this, Choose to upgrade to another box of your liking, Choose to ride it out and see were it all goes or be in denial and do nothing at all and continue to support the clone industry. I for one choose to stay the Captiveworks line for my FTA needs, as I believe in the product and support. They have not let you down so far. All is good. Maybe they put a scare into you but they have not abandoned you. Something’s in life are necessary to do.

I switched to Captive Works several months ago, after the CoolSat fiasco, purchasing my units from an "authorized dealer" in Canada. I note that there are several "authorized dealers" in Canada with the 600premium still for sale, one of whom I purchased from in good faith.
Now, with your info on Dealer Inventory, I'm wondering, if they're still available in Canada from 'reputable' dealers, did I get clones? (Hope not)
In any case, if they can zap the clones, the sooner the better. Then I'll know for sure and can move on.

thanx for the info mate, I have had the premium for almost 2 years now (i think) and have had no complaints what so ever, I just hope those still going for the clones, dont ruin it for the rest of us ............

Mine is also over two years old and have not had a lick of trouble. My plans are to go south to Florida for the winter and I would really like to have HD, but if does not appear prior to leaving I will be taking my Captiveworks, as it has never let me down.

I'm hoping mine, 2 600sPrems, bought last summer are legit. If not, I am looking to go with the 800 soon anyway.

I'm hoping it is to late for the 700 & 800. Check this out. I've see this company listed before as a known clone manuf on another site. Could be they are just under contract with CW but I've been watching the product line for the past 5 months and the 700 & 800 just should up in the last 3. h**p://www.veisat.com/

As it is common knowledge that the 600P clone can be ID by the Ser # CWP0611XXXX .With the new rumors of clone 600p being sold every wear ,It is not to likely that they would have the ser # CWP0611XXXX on them . Is there any release information on how to ID this new batch of claimed clone STB'S. A lot of in fro was released about VS clones and how to ID them <But there is only the CLAIM that CW 600P have the Ser # CWP0611XXXX , And that is OLD NEWS from around 2006. In the event of a Clone Kill Bin Release It may be that None Clone STB'S will be killed as clones and you will not know the difference between a clone and a none clone

key characteristics (givaway's) of clone models are:

- remote fuctions way to fast and feels poorly made
- remote power button has cirle shape around it and page up and down buttons also do
- remote has "TV/SAT" printed on it
- remote font is not the same
- stb lcd screen is pushed back half a inch from front of box
- box was priced lower then usual
- cardslot cover has to be unscrewed in authentic models... clones come with it w/ no screw in it...

these clones are still selling in stores today, if you see them in stores report them.
CW600P has been discontinued from all authorized dealers since march 2008 because of this.

I really hope that peeps get the message and not buy any more of these clones. It is sad that a few bad apples have to spoil it for others. I hope things get back to normal, with the fixes coming out quickly, again. I guess I was gettin kind of spoiled to such fast turnaround.
