Thumbs down Is Captain Reciever officially Dead
Hi All,

I am really fedup with this reciever. I baught this due to good reviews and also spend money to get dongle and now neighter of them work peace of useless junk. I am not sure if Team Captain is still alive and working because for past 2 months dongle is not up at all and stand alone file does not work.

Pls post your experience and let Team Captain know what a fine peace of work they are doing.

Save yourself a headache and buy a receiver that has better support. I had a Captain and now it's used as a door stopper and does a good job.

If you havint had your Captian working for 2 months then it is something on your end that is the problem. As for the stand alone bins Captain has been doing a great job in there release time for quite some time now, and when some stb's needed a fix the other night the Captains were still going. The dongle is a diferent set of coders and yes they do need to step up to the plate.

I would try doing a factory default then load the factory bin then hard reboot then the newest bin do another hard reboot do your set up agian and do a auto scan. (Note if you have not did a factory default before write your settings down because you will have to enter them again.)
Now go to chnl 200 and wait for tv to come in.

If it still does not work give us your dish settings as you may have something wrong in there as well.

make sure date and time is correct my friend. We know of these receivers out there some with some without the dongle and all are working decent as for the reviews you read on the receiver there right. Captain is a good receiver to buy look at price. Depending on where you purchased from the price is a little more the the big guys top 200 and you have how many more channels to view first month of watching tv it has paid for itself. Can there be improvements on the programs of course there could be could be on every brand out there. But think about it what your getting and paid for very hard to complain

what do you mean poor support bro? i dont even have one of those units and i can see they are doing great with the support for the captains. and as for truth yes you may have some points but it is still considered bashing not as much by you as the original poster. also you are putting down a magnum receiver when their reveiws for that receiver are very high. just because your not happy with them doesnt make them or the coders bad bro. lets end this thread now
