My 8000Hd has been down for 4 days on the last (684) stand alone bin.
Is there any news on when we will get an update of some kind ?.
I love this box it has a better picture than any of the 4 other boxes i have but alas it is down a lot I am hoping for some workable new updates soon.

I am not at home to verify but mine was working as of last night Joe, did you try a hard reboot?
Also double check to make sure your auto roll is turned on.
If still no go, when in your dish settings are you getting any signal & quality on the bird you have choosen?

Hi, everyone!!!!!!!
I would like to purchase the captain 8000hd receiver.. But, i would like to know how it work....i have cs6100 and it is easy to handle... I go to any fta page and tranfer the bin file to my pen drive and put the pen drive in front usb port in my receiver and push the red button in my cs remote control and file downloan to the receiver fast and easy. After the file transfer to the receiver. It shutoff and come on again and star work if the code is good. I would like to know if the captain 8000hd have usb port to transfer the file like my cs6100. If, not how i will transfer the bin file to this receiver.... If the captain work with dish network (119,110 and 61.5) nad how many hd channels a catch in this receiver. If, you have this receiver captain 8000hd. Let me know what it work and the bad things of this receiver..

8000HD has front USB also. Bad time to buy. DISH will go down soon with N3. We don't know if we will be able to use present Receivers...

You are correct of course. However, there are rumors circulating that DN is taking longer than expected to swap out the old N2. Some say that there could be delays until summer or even later. Apparently there are HD issues with the new system. Could be just BS too. Who knows?
