Question Just installed my Captain 8000HD but not getting any channels

I just installed my Captain 8000HD, followed the instruction on the post “Here is my prelim review on the Captain 8000HD” which basically said the following:

1) Download the latest bin to my computer (in my case “Captain8000HD_V675_2008_1214.zip”)

2) Rename bin to “APP_7710_down.bin”

3) Copy renamed bin to USB memory stick.

4) Turn ON my Captain 8000HD and after the boot process, inserted my USB Memory stick in the Captain.

5) Unit popped a menu, and just followed the instructions as to how to how to upload the new bin.

After the flash, I was able to do an Auto Scan and find all of my channels, My main problem is that I can scroll up and down all the channels, but the only channel I get is a public channel from DN talking about HDTV, All of the other channels are blank. I don’t know if at this moment everybody is down and is just a matter of waiting for a new bin or if I did a mistake on my original setup. Thx ….

Have you left it sit on one chnl without changing the chnl? It can take a bit of time to auto roll sometimes.
Did you give it a hard reboot?

No need to rename bins.

Thank you Metal, that seemed to do the trick. I was not waiting long enough for the box to do it's thing ...
