Is Captain 8000 HD any good???

I am looking to upgrade to a HD receiver and don't have alot of $$$ to be laying down for a more expensive receiver. Anyway I saw a Captain 8000 HD receiver for about $200 and was wondering if is a ok receiver, if the new files are uploaded regularily and if I would be able to get HD channels or not. I'm getting a 1080p LCD and my Pansat 2500 has got to go.

Also, would I need a new dish/LNB? a HD dish?

Thanks!

Thumbs up It Works

I have two Captain HD's and works pretty good. I have even hooked one up to a dongle and it worked for me less than 50% of the time. I don't know if it was me or my internet connections????? The stand alone bins have been fantastic. The support from Catain has been A+ and have always answered my questions. Don't expect them to drop what they are doing to tend to you right then, but they did get to me in a few days. All I can say the Captain is well worth what you will spend.

Thanks for the advice. I don't plan on using a dongle. Do I need to get a HDTV dish or can I use the current one running my Pansat 2500A?

Just remember that the Captain 8000 FTA is only good with Bev no DN.
