Question Captain 8000HD with Dongle any GOOD ??

Hi everyone,

I am looking into purchasing a captain 8000 hd with dongle (iks). I have a Coolsat 6000 and need to change.

I am getting a good price on it and was told that with the dongle it almost never goes down...maybe 1 - 2 times in last 5 - 6 months.

Just wondering what you guys think about that ?

Thank you!

Tried the Captain models and Didn't like them.Picture quality on a big screen tv LCD poor but a bit better on a plasma tv.Slightly fuzzy and hazey. My viewsat better picture for sure and on my buddies pansat really good also.I'd go with a more popular name brand
GOsatellite.ca - FTA Accessories - DVB S2 8PSK Module Canada

Well, yes it has been up and doing pretty good but there are still missing chans. and still some freezing(as of late the freezes has been very few)
At this point in time I wold not recomend it unless you are getting a very very good price on it, and you can see the dongle working. Some people have not had good luck with there dongle and with the lack of support as of late there are alot of people trying to get rid of theres.
So just make sure what you are buying is working, if they cant show you the dongle working I would definatly leave.
Hope this helps you a bit.

I agree with the 2 gentlemen which replied to you. I had a Captain 7000 without a dongle amd switched to CW700. Support is dismal as of late and I've heard alot of freezing issues with the dongle.
As mentioned go with a popular brand instead of a local brand. I wouldn't suggest Captain compared to the other brands.
