I wish I had your faith in VS. I have five VS plat and extreme and all they do is collect dust. Hate to mess with your thoughts on VS but think about this. N3 has been implemented for the last 9 months when Bev went down. Do you think they waited until now to work on a fix? It will be a while before any standalone fix is out for any box. JMO.
