Fixing the Coolsat 5000 remote problems
1) Remove both batteries'
2) Use an alligator clip and short the + and - terminals for 30 secs or so. The correct terminals are the two at the BOTTOM of the remote as you look at it from the back side. If you use a voltmeter, you'll measure about 2.6Vdc . . from the charge of a 'storage' cap. After 30 secs, remove the "short".
3) replace the batteries (watch for the right order!)
And you MAY have a working remote for your CS 5k . . .
this has worked for some but it's up to you.....
